Hello, happy Saturday, and welcome to 5.21.22 weekend reading! This is a weekly series where I share what I’ve been reading, what I’ve been listening to, what I’ve been wearing, and generally what I’ve been thinking about.
It’s currently Saturday afternoon and it has been storming, so it’s very hot and sticky outside. I went to the farmer’s market this morning – the first one of the season. I picked up the essentials: oat milk, ranunculus flowers, and arugula. I’d hoped to get some strawberries but they sold out very quickly – even though I got there not long after the market opened ๐ Hopefully I’ll get them next time.
It seems summer is here! I’m simultaneously very excited and not ready for it. With that, let’s get into this weekend’s reading list.
Donating… to an abortion fund.
How to help the victims of the Buffalo shooting.
Reading… Iโm done being civil with anti-choicers.
Which Women Do We Choose to Believe?
Waking Up from the Nap Dress… adding this article as I am wearing one of my several nap dresses.
A conversation with Jemima Kirk, who plays Melissa in Conversations with Friends. She deserved more screentime.
The first federal bill that could protect garment workers is heading to Congress.
Wearing on repeatโฆ the Outdoor Voices exercise dress
The coastal grandmother trend, explained.
It’s linen girl summer. I love Quince’s affordable linen collection. Plus I adore everything Daily Sleeper makes – I have the lavender linen Atlanta dress and it’s perfect for hot summer days. Hot tip: you can usually find linen button-down shirts at thrift stores. And make sure you check the men’s section too!
Also, I recently took the plunge on some Patagonia baggies.
Listening toโฆ Harryโs House. Obviously.
Also listening to Caamp’s Lavender Girl. Can I proclaim myself a lavender girl? I’m definitely a lavender girl.
Thinking about… Union Drip. The only twitter account that matters.
And finally, normalize making everyone you know sign an NDA.
Thanks for reading 5.21.22 weekend reading! I hope you enjoyed this list as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
