I’ve never been shy about my political affiliations, nor have I been shy about criticizing our current president (and other politicians). Obviously, I don’t need to say that this election is probably the most important of our lifetimes. You already know that. So, I won’t bombard you with a long post, but I do think it’s important to write about this. So, I want to share a few reasons why I am voting for the Biden/Harris ticket…
I am voting for COVID-19 recovery. For racial equity for Black, Indigenous, and people of color. For the environment. For reproductive rights. For healthcare. For LGBTQ+ rights. For DREAMers. For workers’ rights. And for many, many other reasons.
This is by no means a complete list, but I hope that sharing some things that are important to me will inspire you to not only vote, but also tell others about the issues that are important to you.
I don’t agree with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on everything, but they are the only Presidential path forward to make progress on any of the issues I mentioned. We have been set so far back by the Trump Administration, and we can’t afford four more years.
Also, please do your research and make sure to vote for progressives on your entire ballot – all the way from the Presidential race at the top of the ticket to the judge races at the bottom. Local elections are much more important than federal elections in many aspects because they legislate on things that impact us on a daily basis (think housing, transportation, and policing). I’ve said it many times and I’ll say it again: local elections matter!
Thanks for reading, and please go vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
