If you’re a plant lover, the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio is an absolute must-visit. I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago to see the 2020 Holiday Blooms exhibition, and it did not disappoint.
2020 Holiday Blooms
First, we explored the showroom, which houses most of the seasonal holiday blooms. The main attraction here is the famous 10′ poinsettia tree, which is a great photo opportunity. Also, there are hundreds of poinsettias in lots of different colors – from red to pink to orange.
The different colors of poinsettias were so beautiful. Poinsettias are one of my favorite things about the holidays. I love that they paired the pink flowers with lush monsteras.
The Palm House
I think my favorite part of our visit was the Palm House. Specifically, I loved the huge fiddle leaf fig tree in the palm house! I knew that fiddle leaf figs grew to be large trees in the wild, but I was in awe when I saw this massive tree. They planted it in the palm house over 100 years ago, which is crazy!
These floating boxwood wreaths were giving me all of the wreath inspiration for future Christmas decorations π
We researched their COVID-19 precautions before we booked tickets, so that we would be safe during our visit. First, everyone must reserve tickets online in advance so there aren’t too many people in the facility. Second, everyone is required to wear a mask. Thankfully, there weren’t that many guests there so we were able to social distance properly.

Finally, I’m sure you’re wondering if there is still time to visit before the exhibit is over. Well, you’re in luck! The Franklin Park Conservatory Holiday Blooms exhibition lasts until January 10, 2021. So, you still have time to check out the exhibits! However, the conservatory is a great place to visit any time of the year. They change their exhibitions every few months, so there is usually something new to see! Check out their website to learn more and make a reservation.
