Happy almost Friday! I am a newfound believer that layering a turtleneck and sweater is the best cozy combo. When you have to get dressed in the winter (once in a blue moon nowadays, I know), sometimes it feels impossible. I struggle to figure out what to wear all the time, but this easy and cozy outfit idea solves that problem! My fallback outfit option is usually a sweater and jeans – and adding a turtleneck under a sweater is super trendy right now. Plus, it helps keep you warm!
If you’ve been following along on the blog or on Instagram this week, you know that I have challenged myself to a “Week of Pink,” where I create a pink outfit every day of the week leading up to Valentine’s Day. I have loved putting these Valentine’s Day outfits together – they range from dressy outfits that you can wear to the office to comfy and cozy outfits you can wear, well, all the time (like this one!).

A Turtleneck and Sweater: The Best Cozy Combo
As someone who is always cold, I should have tried this sweater layering trend a long time ago. I’ve also seen a trick where you can wear a sleeveless turtleneck under your sweater to get the layered look without getting that bulky feeling in your sleeves! That layering hack blew my mind. Thanks, TikTok!
My cable knit sweater is from Loft, but I purchased it at a consignment store (The Snooty Fox in Cincinnati, Ohio) a few years ago for like three dollars (another great reason to love shopping secondhand). I’m wearing my absolute favorite pair of jeans, the Levi’s wedgie jeans. These are the best-fitting jeans that I have ever owned. I wear them all the time and they have held up very well so far.
I love the blush color of the sweater, but I don’t love the neckline. I feel like it hangs awkwardly too low below my neck. So, a layering a turtleneck under the sweater is the perfect solution! Now that I’ve taken the plunge on this trend, I have a feeling I’m going to wear it pretty frequently from now on…
I can’t wait to share the rest of my “Week of Pink” challenge – it’s been so much fun! Even though it has been a little bit exhausting posting every day haha. Have you tried the turtleneck sweater layering trend? I’d love to know what you think about the week of pink, or anything else. So please feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email! π
