Happy New Year! It’s cliche, but I do feel like the beginning of the calendar year is a fresh start. I don’t make typical “New Year’s resolutions,” but I do set intentions and make goals. This year, one of my intentions is dedicating more time and energy to this blog.
Blogging is something that I’ve always wanted to do, but I was too afraid and overwhelmed to start. I started this site early last year and started to take it more seriously later in the year. I have felt so much happier with my creative outlet since I started writing and creating ~content~ more. This year, I am committed to learning and improving. And I’d love for you to follow along on my journey!
This was my New Year’s Eve outfit, and it was a thrift find! I was so excited when I found this velvet top. I love the mauve color and the black bows on the bell sleeves. And it was so comfy to wear with faux leather leggings to hang out on the couch for the night.
Since I had time off work this week, I decided to check out local thrift and vintage shops in Indianapolis. I discovered Mission 27 Resale and visited both of their locations, which were great. The stores are huge and they have a big selection of clothing and home goods. The prices were slightly more than most thrift stores, but not drastically so. Plus, their proceeds go toward local food pantries and charities.
Press for Champagne
How cute is this press for champagne button?! I had wanted it for months and I finally pulled the trigger and purchased it on Etsy in the mini size. It’s technically an ornament, but I’m going to hang it on my wall – I just need to find a good place in my apartment! If only this button actually worked and someone would show up with bubbly… that’s my dream.
Champagne and French Fries
I’m about to give you some info you’ll thank me for: experts say that champagne and french fries are the perfect combination. Pre-pandemic, I went to a champagne and french fries tasting event at a local restaurant and I got hooked on the high-low pairing. It’s delicious. New Year’s Eve felt like the perfect occasion to have our own tasting at home! We splurged on a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and it was 100% worth it. If you’re looking for a fun DIY tasting at home, I recommend champagne and french fries!
I know circumstances haven’t magically changed, but hello 2021. I hope you bring good things.
What are your goals and/or intentions for 2021?

You should definitely try it! We chose to drink Veuve and make fries at home for a perfect high-low combination, and it did not disappoint!
