Six Great Vintage and Thrift Shops in Columbus

Hello friend! Today on the blog I am talking about one of my favorite topics: six great vintage and thrift shops to check out in Columbus.

It’s no secret that I love thrifting, vintage shops, and buying secondhand for many reasons. First, it’s a more sustainable way to shop for new-to-me clothes. When you shop secondhand versus a traditional retail clothing store, you are preventing clothes from entering landfills. Second, you can find higher quality items for a more affordable price point. For example, a brand new garment made of something like silk or cashmere is usually pretty pricey. But when you source that garment secondhand instead, it’s much more affordable. And third, you can find more unique clothing when you shop secondhand. I love finding a cute piece from vintage store that is one-of-a-kind.

Check out the list below for some of my favorite local vintage & thrift shops!

The Little Light Collective

Address: 3041 Indianola Ave. Columbus, OH 43202

I feel like I talk about the Little Light Collective all the time, but it’s SO GOOD and I can’t rave about it enough. If you’re not familiar, it’s a vintage co-op where a bunch of small vendors all set up shop in one location. They are constantly bringing new items in and there is always so much to browse – I never walk out of there empty-handed.

Out of the Closet

Address: 1230 North High Street Columbus, OH 43201

Out of the Closet has amazing finds and supports a great cause. Ninety-six cents of every dollar collected at their stores directly fund AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s HIV/AIDS programs and their new housing services, as well as on-site pharmacies and free HIV testing. Check out the Columbus location next time you’re in the Short North.

Flower Child

Address: 233 E 5th Ave, Columbus, OH 43201

The floral embroidered sweater that I’m wearing in the above picture from Flower Child. Let me tell you, this place is huge and has such a wide selection. There is definitely something for everyone here. There are so many different rooms and it’s so much fun to just wander around – you’ll never know what you’ll find!

Smartypants Vintage

Address: 815 N High St, Columbus, OH 43215

Smartypants Vintage is located in the Short North and also has a great selection of fun and colorful vintage clothes. This shop has been in the neighborhood for years and will hopefully be there for many years to come! Check it out next time you’re in the area.

Rag-O-Rama

Address: 3301 N High St, Columbus, OH 43202

Rag-O-Rama has unique finds, you’ll never know what you’ll find when you walk in there. If you happen to be doing any spring cleaning and want to get rid of some old clothes, you can consign them here! They also have the option to shop online if you can’t make it into their store. Bonus tip: Rag-O-Rama has a great costume selection if you are in need of one.

Ohio Thrift Stores

Address: Several locations but 1881 W Henderson Rd, Columbus, OH 43220 is the one I frequent.

I go to a lot of thrift stores in Columbus, but Ohio Thrift Stores is one of my favorites because they have such a great selection. It’s also pretty organized and clean, which is great if you’re like me and get overwhelmed by disorganization easily lol. Obviously, it’s a thrift store, so their inventory changes daily. But Ohio Thrift Stores is a pretty safe bet (in my experience) if you’re looking to thrift for some quality items!

This was obviously not an exhaustive list, but that’s where I’m going to stop for now. There are so many secondhand shops out there (both brick-and-mortar and online) that I couldn’t possibly list them all. I would love to do another post about online secondhand shops, so if you’re interested in that please drop me a line! Thanks for reading my list of six great vintage and thrift shops in Columbus, Ohio. Next time you’re in the area, be sure to check them out.
