Spring Bucket List – 10 Fun Ideas to Try Today

Happy Spring! I am so happy that it is finally feeling like spring. I thought winter might never end. Today I am sharing my spring bucket list in hopes that I will inspire others to get into the spirit of the season. I haven’t posted a bucket list since the holidays, so I thought I was due for another one to share what I want to do this spring!

Spring Bucket List - 10 Fun Ideas to Try Today
Outfit details | sunglasses: Target (affiliate link) | sweater: thrifted | dress: Urban Outfitters (old)

Flowers and trees are starting to bloom here in Ohio (as you can tell in the photos) and it’s bringing me so much joy. First, I’ll talk a little bit about my outfit. Does anyone else layer a sweater over a sundress when it’s too cold to wear the dress on its own? That’s exactly what I did here. I’ve had this mauve sundress for several years but have only been able to wear it during the summer. That is until I decided to layer this cream sweater (thrifted from Goodwill!) over it. I’m probably way behind on this trick, but I’ve just figured it out recently! I think it’s a great way to “shop” your closet and turn a dress into a skirt, no sewing required!

Now let’s get into the list. These are things that I can’t wait to do, and anyone can do them!

Explore Local Parks and Conservatory/Botanical Garden

My favorite part of spring by far is seeing all of the blooms. I am planning to visit as many parks as I can this season. When the weather is questionable, head to a conservatory to get your flower fix and stay dry! I am planning on visiting my local conservatory to see their spring exhibit. If you’re local, definitely check out the Franklin Park Conservatory.

Participate in a neighborhood litter clean-up for Earth Day

Earth Day is April 22! This may sound strange, but I love litter clean-ups. You get exercise, you get to clean up neighborhoods, and you feel great knowing that you are helping your community and the earth! Plus, it’s a great way to get outdoors with friends. Find out if anyone in your community is organizing a clean-up for Earth Day. If not, you should organize one!

Attempt my first thrift flip

I’ve had my sewing machine for a few months, but haven’t gotten the chance to sit down with it and actually try to learn how to sew. And I have been collecting thrift store items that I keep telling myself that I will thrift flip, but it hasn’t happened yet… Also with spring cleaning, I know I’m going to come across some clothes that I don’t wear anymore. Instead of tossing them, I want to repurpose them.

Have a picnic!

Folks, we are officially entering into picnic season! Pack some sandwiches, snacks, desserts, maybe a little bit of wine (I won’t tell), and head out to your favorite outdoor space. Warm spring days are the perfect picnic weather – not too hot, and not too cold. Plus, you’re surrounded by beautiful budding nature. What more could you ask for?

Take a hike

Fingers crossed for good weather, but I think I will be taking my first hike of the year this weekend! I’m not one for hiking when it is super cold, but maybe one day that will change. I am hoping to see some pretty wildflowers on our hike! Everyone should hit the trails with friends this spring. My favorite app for finding hiking trails is All Trails.

Visit a flower farm

With a little bit of internet research, I am sure you can find flower farms in your area. I know the flower section at Trader Joe’s is great, but we should support local farmers too! They need your support now more than ever.

Spring cleaning

Spring cleaning is a given. I have been trying to purge, clean, and organize my apartment, but I feel like I only make a small dent each time. I think I just need to set aside an entire day to clean.

Have a garden tea party

Not to be confused with having a picnic. No, these two spring activities are so different! I daydream about wearing my nap dress (affiliate link) in a backyard for afternoon tea, topped off with a glass of champagne at the end. I don’t have a backyard, but a girl can dream.

Visit a farmer’s market

This one is no surprise since I rave about farmer’s markets all the time. I’ll say it once again: support! local! farmers! The dollars you spend in your community actually go back to your community, and I think that’s pretty great. Plus, you can find some great things at farmer’s markets that you can’t find at the regular grocery store.

Go on a bike ride

I don’t think I’ve been on a bike ride since COVID started, and I want to change that! Unfortunately, I don’t own a bicycle. However, I live right next to a bike share where I can easily rent a bike and ride along the Scioto Mile here in Columbus on a nice day. I definitely want to buy a bike, but I am a little too nervous to actually ride one on city streets lol. I would only buy one if I definitely knew I would use it often because it’s an investment!

That’s it! Thanks for reading my spring bucket list. And please let me know if you do anything on the list!
