Hello everyone and welcome to day two of the Week of Pink challenge! I am styling a secondhand sweater vest for Valentine’s Day. Today’s outfit is seasonal and perfect for Zoom attire – professional on the top, casual on the bottom. Pairing a couple of different shades of pink together is so fun and makes your look that much more feminine. Make sure you check out my post from day one of the “Week of Pink challenge” and follow along here or on Instagram!
I started with this baby pink linen button-down that I thrifted a few months ago. I love wearing button-downs since they are such a staple in my closet. But in the winter, I feel like I need an extra layer to keep myself warm without feeling too bulky. Sweater vests are a great solution to this dilemma.
Fashion-wise, what do we think about sweater vests? Are we still into them or are we over them? If you’re still into them like I am, you might be wondering how to style a sweater vest. I paired my pink knit sweater with a button-down for a cozy yet polished vibe. To make it more casual, I added my favorite Levi’s jeans and some adorable slippers from Etsy. I think this would be great to wear for a zoom meeting, provided your office is a bit more on the casual side. If you need to look more professional, you could opt for a neutral-colored sweater vest!
Etsy Slippers
Let’s talk about these slippers for a moment. They remind me of the Birdies songbird mules that they stopped making before I could get my hands on them. These slippers make lounging around the house more fun.
Also, I should have gotten blue light glasses a long time ago! My full-time job, blogging, and most of my other activities require me to be on my computer. So weekly screen time report from my phone is bad enough, so I’d be scared to find out what my total screen time is. Yikes. These glasses from Wear Me Pro are great, and you can feel the difference shortly after putting them on. And it doesn’t hurt that they are stylish! I get compliments on these glasses every time I wear them.
Sweater Vest, Sweater Best
I found this vest from Love Hannah Lee, a curated thrift/vintage small business. with classic pieces at a fair price point. I highly recommend checking her shop out. If you are trying to be more eco-friendly with your retail therapy habits like I am, you should check out other curated secondhand shops. This has all the sustainable benefits of shopping secondhand without the time consuming and overwhelming process of digging through a thrift store. There has been a surge of interest in secondhand and vintage, so more stores are popping up to meet demand. If you can find a shop owner who has similar taste as you, that’s great! This way, you’ll know you can go back to them time and time again
