For today’s blog post, I am featuring the best accessory: vintage silk scarves! This is the third day of my “Week of Pink” challenge for Valentine’s Day outfits, where I am coming up with a pink outfit for every day of the week. Be sure to check out my posts for day one and day two, and follow along on Instagram!
I have a bit of an obsession. Any time I visit a vintage shop, I am always on the lookout for vintage scarves. As a result, they have become one of my quickly-growing collections in my wardrobe. And for good reason!
One of a Kind
Silk scarves are a great way to express your style and individuality with your outfit. Firstly, they are often one of a kind (like the one in my photo). Secondly, there are so many sizes, colors, and patterns out there to choose from. There is a scarf out there that fits everyone’s style. I tend to prefer the ones with bright colors and/or patterns, and I always get compliments from people every time I wear one.
This vintage pink scarf is from my favorite boutique, Sweet and Spark. They carry some vintage and some new, but every item they have is absolutely beautiful. Plus, they have a wide variety of one-of-a-kind vintage scarves, including lots of designer options (think: Chanel, Hermes, Oscar de la Renta, etc.) Maybe one day I’ll be able to afford a Chanel scarf. Wishful thinking. Definitely recommend checking them out if you’re looking to add some vintage wares to your closet.
Expressive & Versatile
Finally, I think vintage silk scarves are the best accessory because of how versatile they are. You can get a sense of someone’s personality based on how they choose to display their accessories. I’ve seen them styled in so many different ways. For example, I see them on handbags, as belts, on wrists, and even framed on walls! Personally, I love to wear them tied around a ponytail, tied on my handbag, as a headband, and around my neck.
Thanks for reading day three of the Week of Pink! I had so much fun putting this outfit and post together. I’m curious if people are interested in more content on styling scarves. Let me know if you would like to see a post all about the different ways you can style a silk scarf!
I can’t wait to share the rest of this week’s pink posts with you all!
